Future Mesh Stringing Tips

All Products

All pieces are constructed from one continuous strand, cutting anywhere on the piece will result in catastrophic failure. Don't say I didn't warn you!

TR-1

  • There is some initial break-in stretch, so you will want to string the pocket slightly shallow and then give it a good pounding to lock it out.

  • The top of the mesh is flat, whereas the bottom comes to a point. When looking at the top, you should see on one side a small knot that looks melted. I typically orient the mesh such that that melted knot is on the left side when looking at the head from the back. This puts the slightly rougher side in towards the ball for added grip.

  • No need to fold the top!

  • I have yet to find a style of top string or sidewall that doesn't work with the mesh, so don't be afraid to get creative.

  • Strings most similarly to a piece of standard 9D mesh, with the exception that you will most likely use more diamonds down the sides than you typically would.

  • I typically avoid running my bottom strings through the bottom-most central hole to improve longevity of the pocket.

Backbone

  •  Still no need to fold the top, and I orient the piece in the same way as described for TR-1.

  • Don't be afraid to skip holes down the sides of the mesh when tying sidewalls, this method works great for higher pockets!

  • There is some initial break in stretch, but you may end up with more of a tail than you would have with TR-1.

W1 PRO

  • While the product is designed to be stringer friendly, for new stringers, particularly those who have never strung a men's pocket before, I'd recommend you take this piece to a stringer or seek out an experienced stringer for guidance. But isn't this for the women's game, why do I need someone who has strung a men's head? Well in short this strings up more like a piece of men's mesh than alternative women's pockets.

  • Love them or hate them, Liberty top strings are the most effective means I have found of attaching to the top, but again, don't be afraid to get creative!

  • For the sides I usually pull the first couple (2-3) rows down as tight as possible. I then will stack a couple of 1's or 2's to form the pocket. You'll notice the piece tapers as you move downward and forming the tight portions of the pocket should flow naturally.

  • Don't be afraid to give it a couple of tries until you get the pocket how you want, these are uncharted waters in terms of women's mesh!

  • There is some initial break-in stretch, so you will want to string the pocket slightly shallow and then give it a good pounding to lock it out.

  • Keep the bottom strings simple! Or jazz them up I don't really care as long as you're happy with how the stick plays!
